• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

confession.

Laundry

I have a confession to make. There are days I like the laundry. It soothes my ruffled soul. Something about the whole process, gathering up all the dirty stuff, sorting, adding yummy smelling detergent to the washing machine, piles of fresh smelling folded clothes and towels ready to be put into the linen closet. Folding the warm-from-the-dryer laundry isn’t my favorite. And ironing doesn’t even bear discussion. But laundry—humm. It’s just so proactive. Homey. I can see what has been accomplished. I found this book at Barnes and Noble today. It’s a great title and the color and design of the jacket make me think of late mornings when the laundry is finished and the whole day is yet to be discovered. But, never fear–I left it at the store.

I love doing the laundry too…just not the
folding part! LOL! :o)

Well ya lost me on this one because I detest laundry. Laundry and bathroom cleaning. My two most detested chores. I do them anyway though of course!
I have the book by the same author called Home Comforts. It’s excellent.

I love the SMELL of warm laundry right out of the dryer…other than that, I think the whole process bites, lol. Perhaps the fact that my husband and two boys generate the equivalent of a small army’s worth of dirty smelly laundry…I *do* like the cover of that book though ๐Ÿ˜€

First Cousins Once Removed.

Img_5539
My cousin Carolyn and her husband Cameron and daughter Grace are visiting. Last night at dinner Cameron was able to straighten me out on the whole "removed" genealogy thing. Apparently, Carolyn (who is several years younger than me) is my mother’s first cousin. Carolyn is my first cousin once removed. Grace and I are second cousins(we are the children of first cousins). If Ben and I had a child s/he would be a second cousin once removed to Grace. Cool ๐Ÿ™‚

Amanda - October 29, 2005 - 9:17 pm

So glad to see you Templeton—or should I call you Jim?

Jami Vander Kooi - October 30, 2005 - 5:27 pm

I was surfing around the net and I came across—YOU! I can’t wait to meet you! Hopefully, it will work out for you and Ben to visit us soon…:)

Jim J. Bullock - October 31, 2005 - 1:26 am

Absolutely…and now I see a Vander Kooi on here…I gotta get in touch with Jeff soon as well! Ben send me that “wuss” thing!

Beautiful Day.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood. It’s just gorgeous here today. I am trying to make the beauty of the day overshadow the sore throat I woke up with this morning. Hope it works soon! Tomorrow is more teaching, one of my favorites, organelles of the cell, and coffee (or in my case chai) with a sweet friend. Friday the cousins come for a quick visit and before they arrive, lunch with the neighborhood ladies. It’s shaping up to be a great week.

Breakfast Club.

Baby_ott

John & Shannon & baby Ott came for breakfast Saturday. OK-we aren’t really any sort of breakfast club, they live 1000+ miles away, but it would be super cool!! How about next Saturday guys??? I seriously can’t wait to meet baby boy Ott. He will be so loved, you guys are going to be great parents ๐Ÿ™‚
