• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

Xmas Cards.

It’s getting close to Thanksgiving. Around our house, that means (among other things) Christmas Card planning. I am seriously hoping for a fantastic photo from a fun destination. I have ordered the cardstock and am begining to think about design ideas-the one part that’s already decided is the adorable stamps the postoffice is offering for the holidays this year. Have you seen them…..soooooo cute ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m definitely going to get me some of those stamps! How cute are they?
I’m almost done with my cards – yea! I actually got them started before December this year. :o)

OMGosh they are soooooo cute! I already have my heart set on ordering the personalized stamps (with your own pic) this year for our cards though…for bills however…makes writing those checks a *bit* easier ๐Ÿ˜‰

on the brain…

  • thanksgiving and cooking yummy things in my beautiful new kitchen
  • packing for London!!!!
  • how much I want to get my BSF lessons done before group every week
  • needing to exercise
  • anticipating family
  • thankful that Ben’s cell phone won’t work in Europe!
  • JOYFUL that VOIP phones DO work in Europe ๐Ÿ™‚
  • 7 hour time difference between here and there

missing…

It’s only been 24 hours. And already, I’m missing my camera! It is off on an adventure without me-and this is the most beautiful autumn leaf weekend of the year! What was I thinking??? Ben told me recently, I act like that camera is my child or something….well, OK, that might be a bit extreme. But I really like my camera. Mostly I like that I can record the goings on of life–capturing little pieces of life-joy, excitement, anticipation, silliness, occasionally even loss and angst. So, for the next several days, I must record only with my mind (like I am going to remember!!) or pen (or pencil or keyboard). Here goes….

You know…I’m the same way with my camera. Could be a little bit freeing though – not feeling like you have to record everything photographically. I’m betting you’ll get some REALLY good stuff down on paper while it’s gone though ๐Ÿ™‚

I feel you…I hate not having mine within an arms reach….love my canon…great thing….sorry you are missing yours right now…
but who knows…maybe this will inspire some awesome writing….

November the what?!?!

I can’t believe it’s already November-and the 4th no less. I told someone recently that if feels like our life is on fast forward right now. It’s great from the aspect that we are enjoying all the fun stuff–friends and family visiting, MMS moving into new office space, way fun travel coming soon!! But I am a bit concerned that we may miss some of the excitement and joy in all the hub-bub. The end of the year is always like this for me. It seems like the longer the year is, the more speed we pick up and suddenly we are in a free fall towards New Years. I am determined to savor each and every moment, and record them (surprise), if only in my heart or of CF cards. That way come January and February, during the longest, literally darkest days of the year, I can pull out my favorites and relive them, enjoying them to the fullest.
