• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

The Mankins, super busy with new home projects have no pictures to share. No photo a day or any others. We have a new sprinkler system for the front flower beds, a garage door opener, a fully assembled work bench, and plans for lots more.

Our Life group tried something new today. We met for lunch instead of dinner. It worked beautifully. I enjoyed it so much, we are hosting lunch next week. Menu: to be announced at a later time.

This week we will help Otter Creek host Donald Miller Monday night, Tuesday and Thursday I will teach, Wednesday night is a teachers meeting at Otter I am helping with, and then it will Lord Willing be Friday again. Another week—flying by. I hope to take some pictures Monday night. We’ll see.

This past Friday I got to go to Bowling Green, Kentucky. I participated in a Quantum Learning presentation. Jenny Severson is TOO COOL. Her brain is amazing and her public speaking skills out of this world. I so want to  be in her classroom again. SOON.

Dresser001

After patiently waiting two weeks, my sweet husband and Nick (a GREAT friend) delivered our dresser this afternoon. The dresser, until this afternoon, sat in the showroom/warehouse at PDs in Franklin. It began the journey home as rain drops began to sprinkle and then pour. Thankfully we had blankets to mostly keep said dresser dry. Now, toweled off and sitting happily in my bedroom, it looks fantastic. It out classes the iron bed from Pier One that now looks WAY too small. Darn, a new reason to shop. Thank you Mother for helping me pick it out and Daddy for pitching in :)it looks great! You should come visit ๐Ÿ™‚

That dresser is beautiful! Don’t you just hate when you buy one thing and it just snowballs from there? You new home is beautiful, congrats!

Man, that totally beats my hand-me-down dresser. We are still using 2 dressers that were my father’s when he was young. Yes, my father! And, they are antique-quality. They ironically go perfect with our Pier 1 headboard ๐Ÿ™‚
I hope you are having a great time decorating. I can’t wait to see it all.

This darling little boy delights me to no end. He is at that sweet crawling stage and all sorts of exciting new adventures abound. He and his parents came for dinner last night. I didn’t want him to leave, OK, I didn’t want his parents to leave either. We had a great time breaking in the shiny new grill, the burgers were great and the fellowship even better.

So, did you add the date, etc in Photoshop? I assume that is how you jazz up all your pictures – if so, then I’ve definitely got to get me that software!

Ben the Amazing.

This weekend’s list of accomplishments boggles the mind:

Screws for the baker’s rack
light fixtures changed in master closet, laundry, hall, pantry, porch, and deck
Globes for game room fan changed
Cables terminated and entertainment center in place
Under cabinet lighting installed
New grill assembled
Wicks family for dinner and grill used
Smart thermostat installed upstairs and programed
Pantry organized
DVDs sorted and put away
Entry frames hung
Books out of boxes and onto bookshelves
Workbench for garage partially assembled

OK–so I helped. But WOW the man is amazing–let him sleep for 12 hours straight and the rewards are incredible ๐Ÿ™‚

Sounds like a great many things checked off the to-do list!!

Ethan - August 16, 2005 - 9:05 am

I wonder what would happen if you let him sleep for 24 hours.

Baker’s Rack.

The unpacking is down to a few order of operations projects. I can’t finish organizing the pantry until the cookbooks can live on the baker’s rack. I can’t use the baker’s rack until we find screws to fit. Sadly they didn’t come in the box. Grrrrrrrr.

I am loving my new clock. It sits quietly behind the fern stand elegant in it’s spot. It is really great having a spot for things and getting them put in their spots.

I’m loving your clock too! It has such an elegant, yet comfortable feel.
Sorry about your frustrations with the bakers rack… ๐Ÿ™
