We enjoyed the super bowl (first half ) with several families from church. Lots of friends for the children to play with and craft these origami “games.” I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve done this with Mallory. Our Valentines tulips came early this year 🙂
Mallory had Princess/Pirate day at school this week. Thank you Cook family for the fresh eggs!! This is the end of our stash, we’ve made muffins and cookies and scrambled eggs.
A trip to Target yields hot chocolate for my littlest Valentine and a new phone wallpaper for me as well as several items crossed off our to do list. Mallory is making Valentines for her classmates this year.
My macbook died. I replaced the hard drive last fall and Friday the logic board failed. Bummer. Thankfully I could save the photo shoot I’d been proofing when the catastrophe occurred and imported safely all the photos I’ve taken since Thanksgiving. Note to all computer users, back EVERYTHING up often!!! I decided to try a desktop this time, it seems like editing photos could only be easier with a larger workspace.
The week started off with children asleep in the car before we got home from church. This is historic, my children don’t sleep in their car seats unless they are sick (Mallory) or immobilized for over 6 hours (John Mark.) In this case, Mallory had a fever we didn’t catch before heading off to church and Mark apparently lulled to sleep by the soothing sounds of his sister’s snores. Monday found me at Ben’s office playing photographer.
Mallory sweetly asked Mark if he would sit with Lily (her doll) for pictures. Mark agreed readily when BowWow (his favorite puppy) was included as well. The week included pajama day at pre-school and once home, the children wanted to play in the backyard (mud) so after changing into rain boots, out they went. Fun was enjoyed by all!
Mallory and I went on a date Saturday. The local toy store was having a Lego Friends event and as Mallory is currently obsessed, it seemed like a perfect outing for the two of us.
Wow, totally sacked out!
John Mark posing for Mallory is beyond wonderful. When did he start getting so big???
Big fan of pajama day. Maybe we’ll institute that here too.
This week I discovered the joys of instagam. Taking cute square pics quickly is great fun and since I always (mostly) have my phone with me MUCH easier than carrying my “real” camera around. We’ve been to see the dentist and Mark is now remembering him in our mealtime prayers (a LOT!) Baked dozens of snicker doodles for the first of three family dedication services at church. Navigated the grocery with two hooligans pushing a shopping cart. And are soaking up all the warm sunny weather we possibly can. Mark boy LOVES his scooter, thank you Laura for the hand-me down!!
Mallory’s class focused on the letter “N” this week, meet Nurse Nancy! We’ve come A LONG way folks, she wanted to put this mask on!! And Ben reminded me that the crock pot is a really good friend!!
Winter seems to need color and after the Christmas decorations are put away, the front door looks naked. I started with a fresh container, after 6 years the other one was ready for retirement. I choose flowers (pansies) that also happen to be growing in my flower beds as well as some spiky yellow (forsythia) that I wish were growing in my yard. The hardest part by far, was stuffing the container with styrofoam.
They are LOVELY! Can’t wait to smell them 😉
Wow! Your skill improves with every project you do. Way to go, Amanda!!!
Lovely! Just delightful.
[…] to put a bench on our porch. The front door arrangement’s facelift included changing out the winter pansies & forsythia for spring to summer geraniums & daisies. I’m not finished with the “porch […]
Sunglasses for playtime after church.
New Lego Friends set and making faces for the camera.
Tying her shoes all by herself.
Through the doors.
Mark has wanted to play in his room before breakfast every morning this week. It’s pretty unusual for my little guy who wants me to carry him downstairs for the first bowl of cereal! But playtime is important and I can’t be bummed that he is playing by himself!!
We discovered a new indoor playland with our church playgroup Friday. Mark continues to love pink tricycles and Mallory continues to make faces for my camera.
Mallory is learning to make her bed every day. It makes me GIDDY to come upstairs and see it done. This morning she included all three Eyeors as well as Kitty Kat and Kangaroo.
What a busy week! The Lego friends is so elaborate – and such fine motor skill. Good job learning to tie shoes 🙂 Can’t wait to see her do it 🙂
So is Mark getting out of bed to play? Is he pedaling the trikes? So many questions!!
No, Mark isn’t getting out of his crib or pedaling the tricycles. We are counting the day until your visit!!
I am SO impressed she’s tying her own shoes!! Way to go Mallory!
