afternoon on the porch

During Ben’s annual trip out west to NAB, Nonnie came to keep us company. While she was here, we freshened a few spots around the house including the porch. I don’t know why, but it’s taken me almost seven years to put a bench on our porch. The front door arrangement’s facelift included changing out the winter pansies & forsythia for spring to summer geraniums & daisies. I’m not finished with the “porch re-invention” project, but serious strides were made in four days. Nonnie’s last afternoon here, it rained and the children had cabin fever. Trust me they desperately needed to be outside. We chose the covered porch with it’s new bench and a side of bubbles for our afternoon entertainment. Nonnie and Mallory enjoyed an art lesson, Mark waved to the various school buses that pass our house every afternoon and refined his bubble blowing skills, while I happily snapped pictures of the afternoon festivities. Thank you Nonnie for coming and keeping us company and me sane.

I love your pictures. Yes, I missed Nonnie, but knowing she could play with Mallory and Mark and keep you happy made it worthwhile. Love you! Pape

Such fun!! Looking forward to seeing how Mallory’s drawing is developing at WDW!! Had a dream about you telling the children about the trip, and they did somersaults!
