Good gracious. Would someone please update this blog…..or finish the Disney posts from MAY…..anyone?
The Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT is always a favorite for us. What's not to love? Amazing topiaries and Spaceship Earth all in one spot ๐ For my farming, flower loving family it's magical. Going to EPCOT was actually not on our original schedule. But when Mallory was TOTALLY disenchaned with water play, Typhoon Lagoon suddenly didn't seem the thing to do. Enter the beauty of EPCOT with our new stroller. You might not know, EPCOT is HUGE, and a stroller or two is mandatory for us. I'm pretty sure all the "adults" wanted to kick the kids off and have a turn at least once.
We spent the morning lazing around Future world and after naps, returned to walk "the world." I think I single handedly broke my daddy's feet making him walk the whole park. Sorry Daddy! All I can say is that Mallory LOVED getting to see Marie and Belle ๐
Our captivating arrival at Kidani Villiage. The giraffes were an early favorite. Our May trip to Disney began with a day of rest for the weary workers, travelers, and children. We stayed at the delighful hotel and enjoyed the pool. I could live there. The pop jets were a big hit, as were the Mickey shaped rice crispy treats
Our first "official" park day was spent at the Magic Kingdom-were else ๐ After the mandatory photos on main street, we headed to Fantasyland for Mark's first ride on Dumbo.
Mark wasn't as big a fan as I'd hoped. He spent the whole ride with clenched fists screaming at the top of his lungs. Thankfully It's a Small World was much better! The enchantment I'd been expecting showed up on his sweet face.
This was the day I realzed we HAD to have a double stroller. Mallory came down with some bug on the drive down and wanted to be carried everywhere. Mark needed a safe place to be near everyone without being held. After leaving the park this evening, Ben and I went to the only place in Orlando I could find the double stroller I wanted to buy.
Our next day we took our new stroller for a spin at EPCOT.
what a fabulous way to relive our memories! I hope the children will always hold the “magic” of WDW in their hearts!
The month of May was like a whirlwind. I kept thinking it would never arrive, that it would be cold FOREVER and suddenly, it's June and there is sand between my toes. Without further discussion, here is a brief recap of May. Let's start at the tail end of April, I ran the country music half marathon. I decided I wanted to do it in January, and with the help of my running buddies and www.rookiemarathon.com I finished feeling strong in 2:51. It's true I have more in common with the turtle than the hare, but we finished!! And I can't wait to do it again.
The week of Mother's Day is when my family likes to go to Disney. It's cool, the crowds are thin and we've decided it might be our favorite week of the year to visit Mickey and friends. It was Mark's first trip and deserves it's own post, so here is a preview…..
We arrived home to the last week of school and all the end of year festivities like dance recitals. There's a bit more detail here. Mallory was a lion this year, "ROAR."
Mallory practiced graduating from pre-school. We are keeping her home next fall and I'm really thankful.
And our month ended with a visit from Ben's mother. She came for Memorial Day weekend and we spent time in our backyard, at the zoo, and roaming around the Nashville area.
your kids are so adorable (LOVE the strawberry blonde hair!) and way to go on your half marathon….that is amazing!
I keep checking and then reminding myself that you HAVE painted your kitchen and continued to feed your family ๐
I did get photos replaced and installed in the coasters! YEAH!!
