• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

mid summer

We have seen two different puppet shows at libraries this summer and these two are obsessed. Mallory is all about making costumes and story lines while Mark is happy to participate and dance along to whatever! Notice the fire detail on Mark’s dragon costume! Mallory’s costumes are ladybug (right) and frog (left.) There’s no telling what the next show will be!

This little guy is hardly EVER still. Jumping and dancing and bouncing oh my! It’s challenging to find safe places to be so active when we are setting record high temperatures (106-an ALL time high) this summer. And last but not least, I’m preparing myself to move Mark in to a “big boy” bed. Not sure exactly when but the July bedding sales are too good an opportunity to miss.

Wow, he is getting big! Good-bye toddler, hello little boy!

the porch: volume 2

The bench is joined by a rug, a pillow, and flower pots. I’m endlessly attracted to trailing flowers spilling out of pots and lush green ferns, the taller the better. A few details here and there.

All this got started when I realized I’d be waiting on Mallory daily in the fall, each morning and afternoon, watching for the bus, wondering how her day would go and then unfolded.  I wanted to create a place we can sit and be, to pray an talk. Hopefully she will think of our little sanctuary the way I do, or at least remember that I’m willing to listen to whatever she wants to share.

This is a beautiful spot you have created for those fleeting, teachable moments. May God bless you in this most important task of shaping Mallory and Mark. Love, Daddy
