Sunday afternoon we celebrated Mallory's second birthday at our favorite local park. It's safe to say everyone had a good time ๐
most heard words: no, Mama, Dada, gaga (milk)-in that order!
my favorite of your words: yes, orange, Dada, sparkle
I've been told that two year old children wake up new creatures on their birthday. I think you "woke up" two about 8 weeks ago. More tantrums, and "NO" sessions. But still ready to hug your mama, who you have recently begun calling, "Mommy."
You are sleeping about 12 (7:30-7ish) hours a night and need a 2+ hour nap in the afternoon. Your vocabulary is not as large as I expected by now. However, your comprehension and ability to get us to do what you need/want is astronomical.
You drink milk, water & Propell, and your mommy's cold chai. You are usually willing to try new foods, not man make the cut though. You still love most fruits-not watermelon and some veggies: black beans, lima beand, green peas. Your FAVORITE breakfast by far is your Daddy's homemade waffles. We also eat rasin toast, eggs, occatioally oatmeal, and cereal with milk in it. Snack time is usually goldfish and/or raisns. I have never seen one human being eat as many raisns as you.
We love you sweet girl and are beginning to have a hard time remembering "before" Mallory.
Happy Birthday sweet Mallory!
Happy birthday:)
In honor of her birthday we baked cookies Wednesday afternoon to take to school and share with her class. I chose to make one of our family favorites, Snickerdoodles. Yum!! It was suggested that I take sugar cookies. The truth is that I have never "loved" sugar cookies. I've had some good ones-but without the fun icing, what's the point. (We aren't allowed to bring cupcakes due to the icing mess.)
Even not feeling well, she seemed to enjoy playing with the measuring spoons and helping add ingredients. Standing on the chair to watch was a special treat. She was so cute following directions: looking with your eyes only-no hands or spoons while the mixer is running. (I am determined to enjoy and record for posterity her following directions!) She was enchanted by the cookie scoop and rolling the dough in the sugar&cinnamon mixture.
She didn't get to taste test the results-I am SUCH a mean mommy. And will have to wait until tomorrow-her birthday-since she'd had a tummy ache today. Here is hoping she will feel better tomorrow!
How fun! Happy Birthday Mallory. Even though Megan insists, “no, my bday”.
Happy Birthday, Mallory!
Was Mallory at school today? I’m still trying to keep out of AK’s line of sight so I didn’t know if she was there since you mentioned a tummy ache?
That is so cute!!!! I wish i was there with you guys
Our little girl is turning two this week. She has already received a fun package from her grandmother in Abilene. She had such fun opening the box covered in cute stamps.
Her first baby doll! She is carrying it all over the house and calling it "bebe."
Thank you Mimi Deloris for the fun package! We love you!!
How fun!! This is such a fun age. Campbell is 16 months, but Claire has a ton of baby dolls (always been her favorite) so Campbell has started wagging them around. So sweet!! Especially when they are from Mimi ๐
This morning I didn't tell her that today was a school day. We went through our normal morning routine and only after we got in the car did I announce that she would see Ms. Beth and Ms. Julie (Ju-Ju) today. She cried when I told her. She cried more when we pulled into the parking lot. She cried all the way into her classroom.
I felt like a TERRIBLE mommy leaving her. Yes, I had an appointment with the optometrist, and a photo shoot. I still wanted to cancel my day and keep her with me.
Thankfully, she had a better day. No, she still didn't eat lunch and she did cry on and off all day. But it was less than last week. And when I arrived, she wasn't screaming her displeasure.
Thank you Father for a better day.
Yay for a better day!! Tell her GG is proud.
I saw your gorgeous photos on Tara Whitney’s blog and had to come over and say hello!
It must have been so hard to leave her at school, but so glad to hear her day turned out okay!
Precious.
