• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

a before picture (really it was taken "mid-project." After the builder installed breakfast fixture was replaced, the fluorescent fixture removed and one of the holes cut for the new recessed cans.) I love that this shows how interested and "helpful" Mallory was during the project.

Great choice on the light fixtures!

“bebe”

I guess it's time to come clean. After spending the first two years of her life doll free (I promise this was not torturous for her) we now have several. Mallory LOVES her baby dolls. She loves diapering them, giving them pacifiers, talking to them, buckling them into her booster seat, taking them on stroller rides, bathing them. I am thankful to say she isn't into changing their clothing yet!

For her second birthday she received not just one but four dolls. The first from Mimi Deloris, two from sweet friends at her party and one from us. In addition to the dolls, she managed to acquire a stroller for each of them. That's right (I'm still laughing) four strollers. The good news is that she plays with them daily. The better news, is we are all set for the 2008 Stroller Races coming to a neighborhood near you.

We even have a doll that gets bathed. Yes, she wants to take it with her during bath time.

She woke up yesterday asking for her "bebe." And tonight when we were saying her prayers, she included "bebe." I think it's safe to say Mallory REALLY likes her babies!

Claire is 7 and she still asks for a new baby doll for EVERY birthday. I guess they will make good mommies!!

your room @ two

Before you were born, your Daddy and I worked on creating a nursery just for you. We wondered and planned and dreamed. Your sweet Daddy offered to paint the walls LONG before I had any idea what color. Two years later, I am pleased to say, it might be finished. It took several photo shoots to fill the frames, and lots of waiting for inspiration to complete. I still might change a thing or two.

Here is what it looks like right now.

You are still sleeping in your crib. You don't show any inclination to climb out and seem to really like it, so in you will stay. You "need" a pacifer (any color is fine,) Eyore, a cuddle blanket (something soft,) a wrapping up blanket, and several books to read in the morning. We put you to bed about 7:30 every night. Sometimes you get a bath, sometimes we read, lately you have asked to rock in the chair and sing before we pray and say, "goodnight."

What a perfect little girl’s room!!

last day: MK

A family classic. In the stocks in Liberty Square.

I made a bold decision for me: I chose not to take a camera to the park. I was (gasp) tired of carrying it. It's heavy!! All these pictures were taken by Nonnie with her point & shoot.

We had a great day, exploring at a much slower pace and enjoying hanging out with each other and this little person we are so blessed to have in our lives.

lunch at our favorite MK eatery-The Liberty Tree Tavern

For the record, she was EXCITED to be at DisneyWorld. I think I may have played it up too much as this little girl didn't sleep much the whole time we were there. Maybe it was the excitement of Disney, maybe it was the cardboard pack&play, maybe it was the novelty of having Nonnie for a roommate. Whatever the reason, she woke up early every morning (and often all night long) ready to play and talk. She was too excited to eat much the first two or three days and by the last day was eating everything we suggested and handed her. Lots of fun. Yeah for Nonnie! I wouldn't have made it alone. Oh, and Disneyland is much easier to "do" than the Magic Kingdom. It's smaller and more compact. And MUCH easier to handle with a little person. Note to self, always take reinforcements to DisneyWorld.

Why is it that I can go for three months without checking your blog and when I finally do get around to checking in, you guys are always at MK? We’re headed down the 1st of December. I’m thinking we may need to make a trip together sometime!
