• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

On Sunday, we got to take Stephen and Lydia to Disney. It is SO much fun to be with people on their first visit(s.) They had a ball and Mallory loved having them with us. She ADORES them (of coursde the feeling is mutual), it's so cute to see her love on other people.

I think she rode this 6-7 times in a row while the "over 48" tall" people rode the roller coaster.

You know she is happy because she knows what to expect from the numerous "field trips" you have taken her on previously and having an audience "to boot!" What GREAT photos!!!

Oh! That first carousel photo is precious!

I love the one in the green teacup! That look on her face totally captures kids’ joy at Disney. =)

Sunday we headed to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Mallory loved the "touch and feel" exhibits, she was not happy I wouldn't let her swim with the rays. Ben here, LOVES the sea otters.

Mallory loved sitting right up next to the glass and "hanging" out with the rockfish.

This photo is just priceless… Looks like the aquarium was a hit. I see it required a passifier with so much new to capture!

Huntington Beach

In the two weeks we've been here, these are the only beach/sand/water pictures I've taken. Mostly because it's the only time Mallory and I went to the beach. It's cold here-much too cold for playing in the water, too cold for being wet in the wind, too cold for being in the wind period. But this beautiful evening, Ben was with us and Mallory wanted to go for a walk and I found my opportunity to take some beachy pictures.

ode to my beach house

Two weeks isn't long enough. I am just beginning to know and appreciate you. The narrowness of the floorplan, the windows open all day and night, the alley & garage, the back patio and front porch, the outdoor fireplace. The BEAUTIFUL kitchen and bathroom. The fun sectional sofa and square coffee table. Wireless internet and plasma TVs with PVR. Getting to meet and live with Lydia for a few days. I adore that you are so close to the ocean. A short walk to the sand,
to the waves, to the colorful glimpses of humanity, to the pier, to
downtown and all of it's delights. The sunshine is different here. The
light a different color than in Tennessee. More vibrant, colorful, the
air even is different.

Seriously, the past two weeks have been wonderful. Thank you sweet husband for bringing Mallory and I along on your adventure. We have LOVED getting to hang out in cool-ville, play at Disney, and hang with sweet friends.

A grand, wonderful two weeks. Two weeks in which I haven't posted much. I kinda felt weird about broadcasting to the world that we were not living in our home for those two weeks. So I have posted sparingly and forced my mother to gnaw on the inside of her cheek (ok-that's what I do when I'm bored). But on the eve of our departure, I'm better with posting now. Things will be different very soon. Lots of posts about our adventures and a few (ha) pictures to accompany the words.

Sounds like heaven! We are going to a similar place in a little over a week and I can’t wait! A couple from church is letting us have their condo for a week since Stephen lost his job, so it will be nice to get a way from the stress. Glad you are having a wonderful trip!
