• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

weekend away.

Our crazy life continues–Ben was scheduled to be out of town for the weekend and if I wanted to see him at all, I had to go too…big sacrifice, let me tell you! We arrived back in Nashville last night at 12:20 CST. Thankfully I am only scheduled to teach this evening. While we were gone, I got to do one of my favorite things–take pictures in a beautiful conservatory. The Bellagio was beginning to change out the Chinese New Year theme to the spring theme but I was still able to get several lovely photos. Love the orchids–there were more varieties on display than I knew existed and all so different and unique. Just wanted to share this beautiful flower with you this afternoon–Have a great day!

I’m jealous! We used to live near Vegas and would go to the Bellagio’s conservatory every now and then. There’s nothing like it. Beautiful picture. I can almost imagine the scene. Thanks for sharing!

mittins and mice.

I am so not a long winter girl. I enjoy the changing of seasons and the freshness, winter’s cool crisp days, the possibility and reality of falling snowflakes, fleece PJ’s, scarves, striped socks, cozy sweaters and velvet jeans. But enough already!!!!! Last weekend we had three snowy days all in a row–and the sum total of all the beautiful unique snowflakes was a dusting. Like a baker dusting lemon bars with just a tiny hint of powdered sugar. Now that the "snow" has fallen for the year, I am over winter. I want the sun to stay out later and the temperatures to warm up. I want sleep without needing two blankets and a down comforter at night.

We moved into our home the end of July. It’s been wonderful–more space, more storage, a garage to park the cars so they are cool/warm first thing. But I must confess we got an ugly UGLY gas bill. Oh–we have gas heat for the first time in our marriage ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s lovely–so warm…Not knowing where to set the thermostats, I randomly picked temps that felt good to me ๐Ÿ™‚ Our first winter gas bill was breathtaking! I immediately changed the settings and now wear a sweatshirt around the house at all times. Upstairs is even colder-since we don’t "live" up there. I have resorted to wearing mittens at the computer. My sweatshirt keeps my arms nice and warm, constant sock wearing keeps my Popsicle toes warmish and for the lone hand that must brave the cold to reach the mouse–I now have a pair of green mittens (thanks Santa) that live on my desk just for my Internet time ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope it’s warmer where you are ๐Ÿ™‚
