• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

goings on

Lots going on this summer. Travels and visitors and plans oh my. We are currently home for a bit and I now have just a few short weeks to potty train Mallory before preschool begins after Labor Day. Yes, we covet your blessings and prayers.  Also on our agenda is moving Mallory to a big girl bed as the crib will have a new occupant this December. Baby Mankin is due Christmas Day and Mallory is so happy to tell everyone she is to be a big sister.  If it seems like I'm not posting much, you are right. I'm a bit more tired these days and keeping up with my (oh my goodness) almost three year old is enough to occupy me most days. We will find out that baby is (please Lord) healthy and growing on schedule, along with boy/girl info in the next several weeks. I am certain that will rate a post ๐Ÿ™‚ In the meantime, I am still keeping up with the photo-a-day postings (only a few days behind.) Happy Summertime!!

18 weeks

Movement! I can feel baby moving ๐Ÿ™‚ It's not really a fluttering more like a rumbling or tumbling. So great to be able to feel the swimming and "exploring" of this new baby. The first time or two were late at night when everything was still and quiet. Yesterday I felt movement in the evening and again at bedtime.  Very very cool-we are getting excited to meet you little one.

We had the pleasure of spending the 4th with wonderful friends. They welcomed us with open arms and hearts and joy. We were heard and delighted in listening to them as well. Such a delight to be in the presence of friends who personify love. Thank you sweet friends! We can't wait to do it again.

4th july
and thanks for the impromptu photo shoot! ๐Ÿ™‚

there is nothing sweeter than seeing a dad love on his girls….

fastest trip ever

On Saturday I decided I wanted to go to Houston for the week. On Monday, we were in Houston for lunch-thank you airline vouchers! Can I tell you how much shaking my head I've done over this??! I am so glad we went and we had a glorious time, but seriously with a voucher for Mallory?? (the only way to fly within 48 hours of deciding to go) The head shaking part is that Mallory had her own voucher, yes she has flown enough that she's already earned and now used her first Southwest voucher. wow–I knew we traveled a lot. But really?!?!?!?!

SO anyway…….fun with her Houston grandparents:

Tutu, crown, Dora stickers and band-aids, cool lacing game and all the attention a 2 year old could want. Does it get any better????

As we discussed going to visit Nonnie and Poppy, Mallory suddenly bursts out with, "and we get to see the trains!!!"
