• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

del Morro

this fort was built over 250 years and begun in 1530-it is perched on the tip of the harbor and has THE COOLEST view. It also has a huge expanse of beautiful green lawn where people fly kites. The only time I wanted Mallory along with us was to see the kites & maybe fly one too. But I got over it quickly ๐Ÿ™‚

Great pics, brings back tons of memories, we go there every time we visit the kids love it and we always take kites and get some snow cones from the local vendor carts. So fun!

Old San Juan

Ben took me to San Juan for a delightful long weekend. Thank you to Nonnie & Poppy for keeping Mallory. Thank you Ben for a weekend of undivided attention and rest and cool adventures. Our first day we wandered around old San Juan.

interesting sculpture: it commemorates a parade led by a church leader at the end of a siege on the city. The people of San Juan were hoping for help. When the enemy saw the procession they thought reinforcements had arrived so they turned and went home. A cool story about the women saving the city without any bullets!

Valentine’s Album

I finished the Valentine's Album. I am happy with how it turned out, cute and little and just right for commemorating our first "real" family Valentine's Day & party. This album template came from House of 3. It's fabulous!! I added a few envelopes and some silver rings and ta-da!!

little girl

You are sweet and adorable. You are funny and photogenic. You are my delight and joy. You challenge and teach and amaze me everyday. You have the worst singing voice I have ever heard, it is alternately hilarious and migraine inducing. You are 2 1/2 years old.

I got up early this morning, showered and was ready for the day before you woke. I had our day mapped out, chores planned, playtime prioritized and dinner in mind before breakfast. A truly remarkable start to a day for me having all this done before you watched Dora, Diego and/or Little Einstines. By 5 o'clock, I wanted to run away from home. You are loud. You are insistent. You are Velcro-ed to my side. We went to the library right after nap time and I had to carry you out screaming. I won't even begin to discuss dinner, after dinner, or bedtime except to say that your Daddy is the BEST. Today was not fun-I want to run away from home.

Just for the record–our journal of living (not counting good or challenging days) a really HARD day.

Just for the record, I think we all have these days. At least I know I do. Our Daddy was a life saver yesterday too…arriving just as I begin to prepare dinner. And the sunshine was a big help too. The bad, pull-out your hair days just make the good ones even better.

Discovering the library’s computer

IMG_4937sc1

You are completely LOCKED into this. A bit hesitant about the headphones, once I explained that's how to hear the story you were good to go.

IMG_4943sc1

You sat so still listening to Green Eggs and Ham. Much more still for the computer than you sit for me ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_4950sc1+

You still love sitting in this little rocker and looking at the books and listening to me read to you. But this particular morning the computer won, hands down.
