• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

Louisville ZOO

Our first trip of 2009: we headed to Louisville, KY. Ben has a client there and the MMS team has been working diligently on this project for several months. GO Stephen! When we knew Ben would need to be there for several days we decided to head up and visit. Mallory and I checked out the zoo Friday and had a ball.

She LOVED the elephants. She especially loved the bronze "baby elephant." We made several trips back to climb again & again.

climbing = her theme for the day

a trip to any zoo isn't complete without a ride on the carousel

We saw rhinoceros, giraffes, elephants, monkeys, a peacock wandering the zoo, bongos, gazelles, an ostrich, cranes, storks, & lions. We attempted to see the tigers that I remember fondly from an earlier visit. Sadly, due to the cold they were hanging out inside away from visiting eyes.

a great way to start travels for 2009!

Play-Doh

IMG_3251+

When Ben is out of town (and sometimes when he's in town), we need distractions. This particular morning I pulled out the Play-Doh in hopes of entertaining for a bit and teaching Mallory more about independent play. As it turns out, she and the play-doh need more help than I was hoping for, but she had a good time and we are learning 🙂

Every day that the sun shines is a good one. January is pretty rough on me. It's super cold and long and well, hard. I'm always grateful for the sunshine, even if it is too cold to get the mail.

Happy Birthday Ben

Happy 33rd birthday! We had a great day making waffles, playing outside, hanging the new bird feeder, reading, napping, baking cupcakes & going to dinner. I hope you know how much Mallory girl and I love you. Thank you for working so hard for us and doing such a great job communicating and loving us.

painting

Today is FREEZING in Nashville. Literally. The high for today is 26. Knowing this ahead of time, I decreed a stay-at-home day. This morning we painted. It started out innocently enough. Then my daughter (who is VERY two) decided she could, and desperately needed to, paint by herself. So what's a mom to do?? Why agree and get the camera of course!
