• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

posting and updates

Really???? Feb17th was the last time I posted something? Unfathomable. (yes, I've been watching Pride and Prejudice) All I can really say is that I haven't chosen to make time. The expanded version is that I am struggling to find fun and or interesting (to me) things to post here. Particularly when I am keeping up with my photo a day project. I've found that having a complete thought and getting it typed is harder than I imagined, particularly when there is a sweet baby crying or a precocious three year old desperate for my attention.

So for today, no pictures–just these few sentences as Mark calls out for his pacifier and Mallory is "napping"

Sunday: snow day 3

Our last day of real snow–more outdoor play and (hooray) SUNSHINE!

Snow 004

Throwing "snowballs" also know as ice chunks, and ringing the doorbell approximately 900 time.

Snow 005
I can say with certainty we are enamored of the winter wonderland.

So the doorbell gets old I take it…

Saturday: snow day 2

Playing in the snow on a Saturday with Daddy-it doesn't get much better than that in January in Nashville.

Snow 001
Mallory calls the icicles popsicle–she enjoyed breaking them off various things in the yard.

Snow 002

my sweet little snow princess-we love you beyond measure

Friday: snow day 1

IMG_6899bmgsc1

Snow is not something we see a lot of in Nashville. A heavy "dusting" once or twice a year is lots of snow. Friday 3-4 inches fell at our house. This amazing event was predicted to happen between 1 and 3 am. At 10 it had just begun to flurry. I decided that we had time to run to the library and pick up the Cinderella DVD waiting on us. By the time we left, the roads were scary slick and obscured. Silly Mommy, movies are NOT worth the risk, next time just stay home. (The picture above is our drive way covered in about 2 inches of snow)

Snow 003

lots and lots of snow-for us anyway

And for the record, our department of transportation is NOT prepared to handle this kind of weather. Nor do people here have experience driving in the snow. YIKES!!

Tell Mallory that I really missed her this morning! I haven’t spent a Sunday morning away from RHCC and her in quite a while!

Amanda - January 31, 2010 - 4:35 pm

Mallory says, “I miss her too.”
We will see you next Sunday!

Just a reader from up north in Chicago … your snow storm is NOTHING compared to what we get anywhere from November to April. But I hear ya though, sometimes its best not to leave the house! Keep staying warm! = )
