It’s done & we had the neighbors over to celebrate Saturday night.
Good times.
cleaning, power washing, sanding, staining and sealing to be accomplished at a later time. In the meantime, we are enjoying the extra space. Thank you Ben!!
Ben, with the help of several neighbors & the always generous Mark Ott, is working on an extension for our deck.
Under discussion for weeks this project, as the best ones do, happened without our planning around the earth and sun to make the time. A few weeks ago a neighbor rented a post hole digger (for his fence building) and kindly brought it over to dig to two new post holes needed for our project. Wednesday we made the first (of several) Home Depot trips for materials. At one point, 90% of the new deck was loaded in the back of my smallish SUV. I so wish I had taken a picture. Yesterday, the joists and decking went in, today will hopefully see the new railing installed. Power washing and staining/sealing will be another weekend! Saturday I hope to have the neighbors over for a cook out on the new deck 🙂
Go Ben!!! And Thank you Lord for good neighbors!
Our first annual girls trip was a BLAST. We headed to Walt Disney World for a weekend of wedding planning and fun.
Beautiful women, inside and out: the bride and our mother
We were able to try out the Magical Express: a cool new transportation option that shuttles guests to and from resorts and the airport.
We stayed at Saratoga Springs the same place where we will be for the week of Jenn and Nathan’s wedding-a totally great preview, I can’t wait to go back. The resort has snazzy race track theme-ing, like it’s namesake.
The amazing view of Disney’s West Side (Downtown Disney) from the resort.
We were able to check out the reception venue, the Napa room @ the California Grill. Located on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Hotel, it has beautiful view of the Magic Kingdom.
Saturday evening, we discovered dining reservations are a must and the Flying
Fish restraunt at the Boardwalk resort is increadable. We even
revisited a childhood favorite, the soda shoppe at the Beach Club where
they make the best vanilla milk shakes I’ve ever tasted.
On Sunday we, and several others, went to Animal Kingdom. It was WARM! Even the animals hid in the shade.
The new roller coaster is great, themed around the Yetty legends. And we enjoyed a new (to me) twirling ride as well.
Monday found us at Frank’s, wedding planning central at the Grand Floridian with a sneak peak at the Wedding Pavilion and delicious cake testing.
Good Times–the wedding will be a wonderful celebration!!
We just got back too! I’m jealous that you got to ride Everest. We’ve been twice since it opened and have yet to ride it. That’s what happens with a baby in-tow!
My wonderful husband took me to New York last weekend. It was refreshing to spend time as just us. Thank you to Nonnie for volunteering to keep Mallory, she is still talking about how much fun you had 🙂 The blooming tulips and pear trees put on a beautiful show giving us a second spring. After enjoying Nashville’s spring blooms, it was like getting a second chance to enjoy God’s beautiful creation. A truly great weekend! Thank you love!!
The tulips in Rockefeller Plaza at night.
We saw the Saturday afternoon’s delightful show–as CT said, "A thought provoking story about redemption, the peril of self-ambition and reminding us that being different isn’t bad…just wicked." HI Curtis!! Yes I read your blog 🙂
my wonderful husband!
Thank you Thank you Thank you for all you do for us.

Way to go Ben!!
