• Here you will find the chronicles of our family of four. More pictures than words, I am most at home capturing our life with a still camera. Photos help me recognize the beauty and awesomeness in both the phenomenal people I live life alongside and this breathtaking place we live, planet earth.

I am a child of God. I am the wife to a wonderful man, mother to two amazing little people. I am both daughter and sister. I am a runner. I love to travel and read.

I often title this season of our life's adventure, The Continuing Adventures of Mallory Girl and Mark Boy. The photography is mine (unless otherwise noted.) Questions are always welcome. Thanks for reading and adventuring alongside us.

Two things.

First happy September!

Second, tomorrow is open house at Mallory’s school. Both excitement and trepidation are running through my heart. I know being with other children will be great for my child (who loves other people). I know having time to be creative and pursue my photography will be wonderful for me (and therefore my family.) I also know that baby girl is beginning to have some separation challenges. I am hopeful that this new adventure will help her gently overcome this challenge. I hope…

It will be great!! Yes she may cry the first few times (and you might too), but it will get better. You’ll have some time to yourself and can remember what it was like to pursue what you wanted to do before mommyhood.

around the house

It’s hard to believe that August is over and Labor Day weekend is upon us. Last year Ben & I were "patiently" waiting to meet our little girl and this year I am planning a birthday party. Last Labor day we painted the family room, it’s only natural that this year we are painting the playroom. I am {laughing} almost finished with Mallory’s nursery. Somehow it just didn’t seem as important to work on while she was sleeping in it! The frames over her bookcase are still empty {gasp} however the memo board is complete and decorating the wall above her changing table.

We are headed to play with the {local} wives of MMS and their children, a first and last trip to the pool before it closes for the summer. Friends are such a wonderful blessing.

I love that second picture. Also, in the last one, that look says, “Hey Mom. Are you watching me? I am about to be loads of fun!!!” Trust me, I have seen that look before! What a blessing.
