We drove up to see Ben’s mother in Abilene and had a great time. We went to the zoo one day, it’s the coolest!
They have an exhibit where you can feed the giraffes. Mallory was not to sure and didn’t like the long tongue touching her any more than her Mommy did!
She found a plastic owl in the garage and made friends for life.
And we did LOTS of running around outside even though it was SO cold.
We had a great visit and are looking forward to next time!
Wow. That’s not the zoo I remember! When I was in elementary school at ACES, we went to the Abilene zoo every year on the last day of school. My favorite was always the prairie dogs! I don’t think they even had giraffes “way back then”! I remember zebras and monkeys and some sea lions and a pair of peacocks (a cock and a hen) that hung out at the entrance to “greet” visitors.
It would be fun to go back someday and see it all again.
