It's no secret that I ADORE my parents. My sister and I are hugely blessed to be the daughters of these two. They give generously of themselves, share their lives, their resources and their faith with us and others on a regular basis. My children are equal recipients of this gift. My kiddos and I spent last week with them, in Houston while Ben attended an annual gear conference for the 17th year. This week, I got to be a camper and co-counselor at Camp Nonnie Pape. If you can get a highly coveted spot I would HIGHLY reccomend it!
First up, face painting. I was unceremoniously demoted as best face painter. Nonnie is OVBIOUSLY much better with paint brushes that I am. Next, chalk on the driveway…..
What's camp without swimming and waterplay? I think the differences a year make are worth a look: April swimming 2010
Mark wasn't to keen on the "wiggling waterpillar" but loves the pool so much he threw a huge fit when swimming time was over.
And special time with their great-grandmother. We spent time reading books together and teaching all three new games.
These two have a special bond. It's been there since his birth. I can't explain it, but seeing it is a blessing and a joy.
Memory is always a winner.
Perhaps my favorite accomplishment all week was getting my Meme to play badminton!
A really SUPER fun week!!! Someday Camp Nonnie Pape will even have special t-shirts 🙂 Maybe we will tie-dye them…..
Looks like fun! Mark is getting SO big!!
Camp tshirts are a must. I wanna come!!
Totally! Im scheming girls trip/Mini Camp visit for later this summer. When do the chilies get harvested?
